Ridglea North neighbors Rocked the Block

Several Ridglea North blocks "rocked the block" in May by hosting block parties. Pictured here is the 6400 block of Locke. Didn't get a chance to have a block party in May? RNNA encourages neighbors to get together anytime or to come to one of our upcoming events together.

RNNA July 4th Celebration: Parade drivers wanted!

Plans are coming together for the annual RNNA July 4th celebration. The event lineup includes a parade followed by a gathering with neighbors in the park. RNNA is seeking parade drivers for our vehicle parade! All neighbors are invited to drive, and this is an easy and fun way for families and neighbors of all ages to get involved. Join us! Email event organizer Renee Mitcham if you'd like to drive in the parade or have any questions.

Gear up now for our Patriotic Decor Contest

Judging takes place the last week of June

Get your red, white and blue ready! Our Patriotic Decor Contest will recognize the most patriotic and beautifully decorated homes in Ridglea North. Put your flags, banners and lights on display for all to enjoy. Judging and awards will take place the last week of June. Prizes and recognition go to the best three!

First Responder Appreciation

We love our first responders! Did you know RNNA organizes monthly treat deliveries to our police, firefighters and EMS teams? Big thanks to Ridglea North neighbors JK Doyle (far left) and Carolyn Dollahite (in blue) for their snack donation last month to our local Medstar team. Would you like to get involved with first responder appreciation? Contact Outreach Coordinator Suzie Jary.

Yard of the Month

The June Yard of the Month has been awarded to 6417 Drury, home of Connie & Bill Koehler. Their yard has been admired for many years for the beautiful roses lining the sidewalk. Since rosetta damaged most of the roses, Connie relaced them with a variety of plants this year. The result is a beautiful splash of color leading to the front porch. This includes lambs ear, baby gem boxwoods, dwarf crepe myrtle, dwarf juniper, geraniums and daisies. You must drive by – you will be inspired! Connie & Bill, along with their neighbors, Richard, Miranda, Eli & Madison Miller, have extended their talent for beautiful gardens to Berney Park. They have adopted the large bed on the west end of the park and are working diligently to weed & revitalize that area of the park. Many thanks to Connie, Bill and all our neighbors who work so hard to keep Ridglea North a beautiful place to live. Contact Una Bailey if you would like to make a nomination for Yard of the Month.

Vote in the June 5 Runoff Election

Mattie Parker and Deborah Peoples are the two remaining candidates in the race for mayor of Fort Worth. The last day for early voting is today, June 1, and election day is June 5. Visit the Tarrant County election website for voting locations and hours.

Neighbor Spotlight: Diana Johnson

1) Tell us about yourself and your family. We are a family of five with three children ages 3,5,and 14.  We have three dogs and a love for the great outdoors!  We enjoy traveling together and are always up for decorating when the holidays roll around.  Hunter is a native Fort Worthian, who met his wife Diana while working together at American Airlines.  We can be seen riding our bikes around the park and walking our new puppy.

2) How long have you lived in Ridglea North? We have lived in Ridglea North for 6 years.

3) What’s your favorite neighborhood activity or event? Our favorite event is the Ridglea North 5K run and Movie in the Park - these are always fun for the kids to cheer on folks and obviously enjoy a movie al fresco.

4) What’s your favorite thing to do in Fort Worth? The zoo - we've been members for many years and take multiple trips monthly to enjoy the very best!

5) What’s your best advice on being a good neighbor? Go outside and talk to your neighbors! If you do have pets and walk them around the park, please pick up their mess.  It helps everyone.
