A Look Back at the 4th!

On Tuesday, July 4th, RNNA sponsored an Independence Day parade and party in the park! Residents voted to go back to a walking parade and they showed up in force! We had two food trucks, Aaliyah Zo and Mister Softee, serving tasty treats. There were many games for the kids, including a bounce house thanks to RNNA Moms Director at Large Audrey Glasner. We welcomed FWFD Station 16 firefighters and our FWPD NPO Bel Haddad alongside other fellow police officers. Councilman Michael Crain walked in the parade alongside our RNNA President Stephanie Muzi. Suzie Jary, RNNA Secretary, and Leanna Johnson, VP of Neighborhood Affairs, took most of the photos below.

Happy Independence to all and we look forward to next year!

Yard of the Month!

The Ridglea North Garden Committee has chosen 6301 Locke as the Yard of the Month for August.

Theodore and Suzanne Daly moved here in April 2022. They redesigned the homes landscaping to make it low maintenance. A wide paved pathway leads to a large front porch. The flower beds are filled with a variety of shrubs and newly planted ground cover spreads under the many trees on side of the house.

Congratulations Theodore and Suzanne!

We have a lot of dogs in our neighborhood and a lot of walkers! Please be sure to protect your dog's feet. If it's too hot for your feet, it's too hot for theirs!

West Nile Virus

We were recently informed by Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) that there has been a confirmed West Nile Virus (WNV) positive mosquito sample collected from a testing site near Ridglea North in the City of Fort Worth.

A positive sample was collected  near 5933 Geddes Ave. Fort Worth, TX 76107.

It’s extremely important that our community continue to work together to reduce the mosquito population by removing mosquito habitats from their property and remind their neighbors to do the same.

The most effective means of protection, even more than spraying, is to stay focused on the reduction of the mosquito population:

  • Please remove all standing water in empty flower pots, pet bowls, outdoor toys, gutters, etc.
  • Maintain your swimming pool.
  • When you’re outdoors, remember to wear repellent that contains DEET.
  • Wear clothing with long sleeves and pants when applicable.

IMPORTANT UPDATES Continued vigilance when it comes to preventing the spread of mosquito viruses in our community is essential.

  • Since there have been West Nile Virus positive mosquitoes in your neighborhood, the City’s Code Compliance officers will be monitoring the area looking for litter and debris that could invite mosquitos to breed and nest.
  • You can help by keeping your grass mowed and trees trimmed.

If there’s an issue with standing water at a location that is not city property, report it to the City’s Customer Care Center at 817-392-1234.

The insect repellant, Proven, is odorless, non-greasy, dries cleanly, and works extremely well. It's also DEET free. We highly recommend it. We were not paid for this recommendation.
